It worked for a while, but... August 9, 2010 Emmanuel V. Gutierrez (Los Angeles) This converter box did a good job when it worked. Set-up was easy, some stations were fuzzy (depends on where you live I got trees and rolling hills here) and it has a nice logo. Well I got to give them some credit for presentation and it looks good next to my audiophile gear. Anyway, now for the nitty gritty. I've had it for a little over a week and there is a hum coming from the unit. I placed it away from the TV speakers and isolated the power cord away from the TV. Still buzzing away. I used Audioquest cables for the connections but nada. Ok perhaps it will go away when I unplug and plug and plug it again - nope. Used it for a couple of days more and the buzz/hum got louder. To a point where you hear nothing but the buzz when the volume is turned low at night - very annoying. Needless to say, it is safe to call Digital Stream DTV a piece of junk. Do not buy or recommend.
this is aweful July 9, 2010 honest don't buy this. it broke after a year and a half. it wasn't cheap an now i'm stuck buying another one
Good For the Ederly June 15, 2010 James T. Hawkins (where the sun always shines) I got this for my mom who is 65. Shes had no problems with it. It gets good reception better than the magnavox one I gave her. Shes likes this one better. The remote is good its just after a while it forgets the program code I enter for the TV but if you can remember the code you`ll have no trouble. She watches about 3 hours of TV a day and shes had it for a good while now. I think its because she takes good care of it. Out of all the converter boxes this one is THE BEST for older folks the numbers on screen are large, the print is big, and the remote works long range so she can change the channel from the sofa unlike the magnavox one.
Worked Great Until it Died April 4, 2010 Karen Was very happy with it... until it died barely out of warranty. Bought with federal subsidy card. Think the U.S. government got ripped off.
Simple and Works! February 2, 2010 J. West (Wright City, MO) Like how this tuner will actually download the station's schedule and present it as a guide so we can see what is on other channels without having to actually flip to that channel. Working great to pick up our antenna's signal.
