| Customer Reviews: Doesn't work, DO NOT BUY, Bad product. July 13, 2010 Michael Hoernig 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
DO NOT BUY. No directions, just a drawing on one possible hook-up. I tried about 15 different hook-ups, and could not get it to work. (VSR, DVD, Cable box, S-video, RCA Plugs, different channels, with NO SUCCESS. I went out and baught a cheap one 1/2 the price, and it worked fine. Just goes to prove, the expensive ones are not always the best. I gave it to Value Village.

I receive this item and I was able to connect my desktop computer to my plasma tv.
My PC is a Pentium 4 with 512 RAM and Biostar Mainboard with only VGA video output.
My TV is a Panasonic Viera 50 inch.
This device works great, as advices
BTW, take into account that this device doesn't include the HDMI cable.
please take a look of this video about the device.

Does what it says May 4, 2010 Nathan (Tulsa, OK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Product works great! I researched quite a few similar products online and this seemed to be the best value. (Got mine for $55 including shipping). But this INCLUDES the box, a VGA cable, 3.5mm audio cable, and power adaptor. (You'll have to buy an HDMI cable if you don't already have one - but Amazon has them for like $0.01! plus shipping). So overall, it's an excellent value.
I got this to connect my laptop (VGA out only) to a 720p 52" plasma tv (dvi or hdmi in only). I was fairly sure what resolution my laptop put out, but I wasn't sure what my tv would accept and how it would handle the signal. This product has auto scale, so I felt safe going with it....and it worked!
It's a bit confusing as to what VGA resolutions the box will accept. I have a feeling it'll accept about anything. There are alot of websites that sell this converter box. Even Amazon has a few listings for what seems to be the same product. As far as I can tell if they look like this (white "Video Box") they're all the SAME. There doesn't seem to be a manufacturer listed on the box itself. Apparently it's just a generic made. Here are the resolutions listed on the box itself:
640x480 @ 60, 75, 85 Hz
800x600 @ 60, 75, 85 Hz
1024x768 @ 60, 75, 85 Hz
1280x720 @ 60 Hz
1280x768 @ 60 Hz
1280x800 @ 60 Hz
1280x960 @ 60 Hz
Even with the auto scale, I can adjust my laptop resolution and the TV follows suit. For example, on it's own the laptop and box made the TV resolution 800x600. This is good for reading text, but webpages and such don't display very nicely. I switched to the next highest (1024x768 I think) and everything looks great. Even on my plasma (plasmas are't supposed to be the greatest for reading small text) the text is very legible.
I highly recommend this!!
